Urbanna Family Friendly Events

How did such a small town get such a big reputation? The Urbanna Oyster Festival, of course. Virginia's official oyster festival hosts 75,000 visitors in the fall. We have a juried art show, a holiday house tour, concerts in the park, street parades, boat parades, fireworks and a monthly farmer's market, too. Throw your own party in an English garden, on the waterfront, in a pocket park or at an historic site. Get down and boogie in Urbanna, Virginia.

Middlesex Kiwanis Club
Mardi Gras

The Mardi Gras event is a major fundraiser for the Middlesex Kiwanis Club which supports the Scholarships awarded each year to very deserving Middlesex students. Last year we awarded $20,000 to amazing young people so that they could continue on their road to success. The Mardi Gras Celebration table sales, auction item bids, and scholarship donations allow us to continue to support these exceptional students. Not to mention that it is a wonderfully welcome fun night of revelry during the mid-winter doldrums.

Christmas in Urbanna

It’s all about Christmas, Urbanna style – twinkling lights, carols, decorated storefronts, the shops dressed in their festive best and local restaurants primed and ready for the occasion, especially right now when Rappahannock River oysters are at their mouth-watering best. Look for special open houses at several of the boutiques and galleries. All in the heart of Urbanna.
